jūdōka.

jūdōka.

Did you know that Judo actually means “Gentle way”–something I found out on Wikipedia. Come to think of it, I always remember my friend Abde from ITK Judo group who is also from Puerto Rico telling me… ”Tan, Judo is like a Dance…”–mainly to stop me from persistently asking: “Abde, why do he keep on leg sweeping like crazy person passing time”.–It didn’t stop me. Anyway, on our practical exam week during the height of winter, I struggled-walk in blistering snow covered sidewalks, freezing in cold for more than 30 minutes just to get to the dojo where my friends were having their practicals (oh did I tell you it was blistering cold?). It was.

Inside the dojo was different. It was warm! And they have sweet hot cocoa. I always get one before heading out on the snow.–But that’s not until after the shoot–so I headed straight to my friends. They were happy to see me! Take a look.

I’ve become very close to the ITK group–the spanish speaking latino jūdōka(s) were my best friends in Germany. They were the best! and it was sooo much fun to hang out with them. I’ve got a handful of stories to tell you but that’s got to wait (Maybe, in another post). We did a lot of things together! It’s one of those friendship that happens overnight! Exactly like Polaroids!–INSTANT! We were eating together at the Mensa, hitting the gym, traveling (Paris, Athens, and Santorini), snowboarding, partying, getting wasted, and sometimes, maybe studying too.

To my friends: Mariano, Cristina, Luken, Mario and Sebastian–we got to get Abde a facebook account! Miss you and Love you all! See you all soon!

Till next time.
