What does it feel like to be on the top of the world??? well 3,238 meters above anyway… that’s a staggering and ear-popping 10,000 feet above sea level. almost a third of a boeing 777′s cruising flight altitude.

But before we go to that, let’s start below first. Lucerne, Switzerland

Ah… Beautiful Lucerne… We arrived in Lucerne a few hours before sunset after a long and hypnotic ride with the COSMOS coach… It was our first overnight stop after meeting the tour group in Brussels, Belgium. We had a sightseeing stop in Luxembourg City (beautiful City as well).

Hhhmmm Lucerne, the first thing I noticed coming out of the coach was the beautiful Monet-like skiesVanilla Skies“. It was amazing. It was like being inside a painting… Vibrant colors of Blues, Pinks, and Oranges backdropping the Swiss Alps and Lake Luzern was just breath-taking… I took a photo. I also loved the vibrant sound of the River gushing down and crossing the almost 700 year old Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke).

The City was Amazing during summer! weather was just right, not too hot and not too cold but has got a lot of sun. We weren’t able to join the Swiss Folklore dinner so instead we set out to walk around the Lake and River. The Next day was a busy day for us… It went fast… Visited the Lion Monument, Tried some Swiss Chocolates, took photos around the City, tried some swiss ice cream, took more photos… then set out to Mt. Titlis.

Mt. Titlis with its Ski resort, and stunning views of the Swiss Alps… I wasn’t going to let this experience pass. going up 10,000 feet on cable car is something I just got to do and take pictures of. The ride was as usual… “terrifying…” considering we were trapped in a small space hanging by a wire as thin as my belt… But of course It was the safest way to travel up the mountain. It was swiss made and we all know how precise swiss can be. Yet, It was still a nerve-wracking 30-minute-3-stops-cable-car-ride. The last one was a rotating one (Titlis Rotair), and every time it passed a wrenching post it gave a sudden jolt that felt like it was going to drop… But it didn’t… hihi :D We passed the beautiful Mile high town of Engelberg (wish I could live there).

The First feeling I got on top of Mt. Titlis was Light-head-ness… It was of course of the thin air and high altitude’s fault, then Chills followed from the oh-so-freezing-negative-8-centigrade temperature, then a little bit of confusion, then finally Excitement… We were 10,000 feet above sea level, We were in year round snow and glacier, And we were on top of the world (sort of). We set out to the Ski Area, took photos, grabbed some snow, make snow angels, it was a Happy moment. It was an amazing experience.
